Six months documenting the people, artists, and small businesses of Omaha's Benson neighborhood. 200+ final images.
The Benson Creative District commissioned a community-centered visual project to showcase the neighborhood’s small businesses, artists, and cultural spaces. My job was to design and capture work that felt authentic, approachable, and true to Benson’s creative identity.
- 12+ featured businesses
- 200+ final images delivered
- 6 months of ongoing documentation and asset support
What they got
A full community asset library with an organized folder structure and metadata, vertical social crops, web banners and hero images, and print-ready photos. It now shows up on their website, in partner and sponsor promotions, district-wide branding, social campaigns, print, and press and tourism materials.
Behind the lens
Most sessions were shot solo, keeping the process simple and unobtrusive. People opened up naturally, and the images came out more genuine because of it.
Kenny!!!! These are incredible. Ahhhh! I’m so happy with them! Annie, Director of the Benson Creative District
